Mexican marble

While whiling away the afternoon, having packed our bags for a very, very early start tomorrow I thought I'd show you some of the amazing stones that are on the floor in most of the metro stops here in CDMX. I'm assuming it's marble but I could be wrong.

First of all, a photo of the floor. Nice enough but when you slow down and look at some of the various colours and patterns in the stones it's really gorgeous.

It was hard to take good pictures what with all the people rushing by and the bright overhead lights reflected by the polished stone.

I'm sure everyone who saw me leaning over taking photos of the floor thought I was nuts, but really I can find some painting inspiration in some of these textures and colours. Do you think I'm crazy?
