We've spent the last two weeks getting ready for a big trip to London, Spain and Portugal. This time we're having people stay in our house on a house exchange. What that means is we have to totally clean our house (including the oven and the woodwork and the windows...you get the picture) and put some clothes and personal items away to clear space for our guests. It's a good thing--now that it's done--because we managed to do some cleaning that had been ignored over the summer. This morning we completed that and took a plane to the Vancouver airport. Now we're in the departure lounge at YRV waiting.
This is the first time I've found a few minutes to post to this blog. But now's a good time. You know how traveling is often about hurry-up and wait. Posting to the blog is a good way to pass the waiting time. Our flight is already delayed by 35 minutes, apparently waiting for a couple on a delayed flight from Edmonton. These cross ocean trips are brutal but once we're there and over the jet lag it's worth it. Because of jet lag and cost of flights we tend to make these trips more lengthy. This one will be almost five weeks. Last year we had to cancel our big trip because of Harry's surgery, so we're going all out in 2017.
We will land at Gatwick tomorrow mid-morning and will stay with Harry's cousin and her husband who live in East Grinstead, south of London, for a few days. We'r pretty excited to see them and their home and then to head on to London, then Spain. I can't post a photo of East Grinstead, because the internet is kind of spotty here. We'll be starting load in a few minutes. Check back here for updates.
Oh My Goodness !
