Complementary colors

Aren't these flowers just brilliant? These two flowers, the delphinium and the rose, exemplify the most intense versions of these complementary colors: orange/yellow and blue/purple. I love the way they complement each other, one so vibrant and warm and the other so deep and cool.

By the way, I will be posting some more Italy photos in upcoming days.

  1. i put delphiniums int he garden this year and i really love the colours and textures a lot. the wind likes to knock their top-heavy bodies flat until they break which means putting sticks next to them. but that's alright because they still look pretty. steven

I decided to try and structure my blog so Wednesday is my life in Japan post and my Monday and Friday post about Tucson. So far it is working for me.

How happy were the Maggie and Geordie to see you when you walked in the door and did you bring them any toys ?

  3. I love delphiniums and would have a forest of them if the slugs didn't think they were gourmet grub laid on just for them. I'll look at yours and smile.

  4. Hi Parsnip,
Our dogs were over the moon to see us back. Geordie did excited circuits around the back yard for about 20 minutes before he could even come to greet us. The only toys we brought were our willing arms for playing ball. They were quite out of shape as they went for short walks only and no running games while we were away.

I am working on photos from our trip and will post more soon.
