OK, it's silver now

A couple of years ago I blogged about my hair colour and my dilemma about whether to keep dyeing it or to let it go its natural colour.

Well this year I've made the shift to grey/silver.  And I'm liking it.   This is the old me with brown hair, looking pretty good after a month in Italy in June.

I was concerned that the grey hair would make me look like an old lady, but lucky for me the natural colour is quite silvery and I've been getting a lot of positive feedback.

It took about eight months for the silver to grow in.  Over the summer it bleached out quite blonde and I felt a bit like Anita Eckberg (but with wrinkles).  Now the blonde is pretty well chopped off and this is the new me.  The colour isn't as green(!) as it looks in this photo though.

What do you think?

  2. The silvery you is looking good, Joanna! I did the same last year! Finally, it's being who we are the way we are. It feels perfect to me! Good for you and your choice! Youthfulness isn't about the colour of our hair, it's about our attitude to life!

You are so lucky such a beautiful silver color.
You are such a vibrant person I don't believe anyone would think you an old lady !
My hair is more grey and quite dull. It is more white in front but I think because of the drugs I have to take more of my hair is turning very dark and really dull. I seem to to losing the ash blond color I have always been.
The person who cuts my hair can't believe the color change.

I would love a bright silver color as yours.
    Very pretty.

    cheers, parsnip

    1. Thanks parsnip, for the "vibrant" word. I like it. Sorry to hear that your hair is losing the color you like.

  4. The Silver Fox is what I'm calling you Joanne! I like your cut, too. I'm letting mine grow and I'm envisioning something like yours. Mine was very short and spiky so it's taking forever.
