Looking out the window the other night this was the wintry sky. Such a pretty colour.
The window below is one of the ones I'm working on at our house on Yukon Street. We hired a guy to re-do the sash cords and make them open again from both the top and the bottom. Now I'm busy chipping off the bubbled paint, scraping, sanding, then filling, priming and painting. I've taken the old hardware off to restore it. I think they'll look nice when finished.
Signs of spring can be seen through the windows everywhere now. This frilly little crocus greeted me yesterday. Now if only it would stop raining!
I've been dreaming of dyeing some yarn just those sky colors. Thanks for the reality - and the nudge.
ReplyDeleteI love sash windows. It feels so good to throw them up and let the spring freshness blow through the house.
That is a such a beautiful sky photo quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour windows look like a lot of work but they will look and work wonderful when your done.
cheers, parsnip
That is a cotton candy sky!
ReplyDeleteI've been dreaming of knitting those colors using a Fair Isle technique to incorporate them all.
ReplyDeleteYour restoration project seems so labor intensive. I've enjoyed seeing the project through your camera lens.
What a truly stunning sky that is!! I am looking at your window and smiling, as I spent much of last summer doing the same. Not a lot of fun with those old windows, but necessary!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing these this week at The Creative Exchange.
Have a wonderful day!
lisa.
P.S. I have seen frilly tulips, but never a frilly crocus. Beautiful!
Beautiful sky!! I don't envy you the work of restoring old wooden windows...but I admire you. I saw my first crocus yesterday, but I was 60 miles from here...in a town that's going to see spring earlier than I am.
ReplyDeleteLovely sky photo and the frilly crocus is a beautiful sign of Spring!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sky! The colours are really amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat sky shot is fabulous with the purple hues in the cloud. I also really like the paint-peeling window frame...and crocus is one of my all-time favorite spring flowers! Score three times!
