News flash: camera found!

My camera has been found, tucked into the seat cushion in the movie theatre that we went to last Thursday. I didn't find out until Sunday night and we were heading up to Durango for two days Monday morning so I don't have it in my hands yet. But I am so very happy.

We had a whirlwind trip up to this 450 year old Silver city and what a contrast to Mazatlan. I will post some photos very soon of its many beautiful churches and Colonial buildings. Here are just a couple to give you a glimpse.

The one on the left is our hotel, a beautiful building on a pedestrian-only street that used to be a nunnery. The one on the right is the 400-year-old cathedral and a lovely bandstand in a park. These are taken with the iPhone so not the greatest quality but they'll give you an idea of this lovely city.

The biggest difference between Durango and Mazatlan is the level of moisture in the air. Mazatlan is a sultry soft place while Durango at about a mile high has crisp cool dry air. When we unpacked our clothes we found them all to be damp from the saturated air at sea level.

The bus ride was spectacular with over 60 tunnels and many bridges. This is a view of the mountains we traveled through.

We are home now at in sultry Mazatlan. More later.
