Queen Anne's Lace

I love this wild flower that grows so prolifically in the meadows and woodlands.  The strong stems and the architectural quality of the flowers. But most of all I love the stem cups that hold the seeds.

This is looking right into the seed cup.  It's like its own little world, isn't it?

  1. I love the tangle of that seed cup. There's such a clingyness to the seeds.
In NS and PEI, I fell in love with the many fields full of the nodding flowers. We don't have Queen Anne's Lace here in the city. We brought some seeds back from a trip and had them in the garden for a few years. They quietly died away one year. Not sure why.

  2. Think of all the new Queen Anne's Lace awaiting in those seeds!
