The opposite of dreary

I'm posting this photo for Shadow Shot Sunday to remind myself of the warmth and richness of colours in other places than Vancouver Island.  This shot was taken at a little spot just outside of Mazatlan (Mexico), on a late afternoon in January of this year.  We've had two straight weeks of clouds and rain here and the forecast looks to be about the same level of dreariness. Right about now I could use a little bit of that deep saturated wall colour to cheer me up.   Maybe you can too.

  4. Fantastic capture, Joanna! Such rich beautiful colors! And I do understand about lousy weather, we've had two weeks of nothing but rain with very few sun breaks and they're predicting more of the same for the next ten days! Hopefully, they're wrong! Have a great weekend! Stay dry!

  5. joanna the warmth hums off that wall and the flowers vibrate with colour. what a perfect picture for someone in vancouver. my brother lives there and talks about the weather quite a bit. he knows that i love the rain but he assures me that even i'd be challenged to smile after a couple of weeks of non-stop grey! steven

  8. Your photo is beautiful!

We've had nothing but sun and heat here for quite awhile. I'm not complaining though, because last summer was miserably cold. You have my sympathies.
