This time tomorrow we'll be on the airplane heading for Rome. It's hard to believe that we'll actually be there in just one day--plus a bit. We spent two days in Rome last June and just scratched the surface.
This time we'll have five full days to explore the Eternal City and at such a beautiful time of year. It's actually hard to leave Victoria right now as the weather is delightful. But it's still summer in Rome and that's nice too. I've packed for two seasons: summer and fall.
We've spent the last couple of days with Colleen and Rick, a lovely couple who will be staying in our house and taking care of the dogs. It's been great to have the time for everyone to get to know each other and become familiar with the dog's routines. I've never felt so prepared to go away.
This trip will involve both city and countryside. After Rome we'll head for a little village in Abruzzo, where we'll pretend to be Italians for a few weeks. It's going to be a real change from our urban/suburban life in Victoria. I'll keep you posted on our journey here.
I am downstairs, listening to your scurrying feet and excited voice....only a few minutes now and you will be whisked away..divertisi!! Sue sueclyde11@gmail.com
