Five fishermen

Walking along the seawall the other day I snapped this photo of a couple of boats with guys out fishing.  It wasn't until I looked at my shots that I saw I had captured another fisherman--the brown pelican.  These are the most beautiful birds.  They often fly in groups of five or ten or more, swooping and diving like squadrons.  We call them the Mexican air force.  I think of these five fishermen, the pelican may be the most successful.

  1. When I read the title of this post, I enlarged your pic, and indeed, there was the pelican! Great shot Joanna! We also see them on the Californian coast.

  2. Hi Jeannette, pelicans are very exotic to me as we don't have them at home in Victoria. I love the shape of their bodies, especially when they're flying.
