Today's flower

This lovely little flower is blooming in a pot on my back deck. I think it's a kind of perennial geranium and I'm hoping that when I transplant it into a garden bed it will settle in to become a summer standard. I just love the colour of these flowers. Don't you?

Sunday is my day to post flowers, as it is for people from all over the world. To see other flower images, go here.

  2. Those flowers are so sweet! When I was a little girl, we used to put those on our fingernails, to pretend we had long "grownups" nails! :)

  5. Hi Joanna:

It is a perennial geranium. I put one (shocking pink) in my garden and have been making divisions of it so that now I have 8 pouffy bushes of it dotted throughout a central flower bed. They are very hardy and have blooms for most of the summer, which is rare for a perennial. Hope you have the same success with your lovely mauve version.

  6. It look's like Johnson's Blue. I love the color - we have it in our garden. If you set it free in your garden it will thrive. It's quite hardy for such a delicate-looking flower.

  7. I love the color. I hope it survives the move, but somehow, I think with your green thumb, it should.
