Shadows in the woods

As the days shorten down we walk the dogs in the woods at the time of long shadows.  This is really a lovely time of year (at least when the sun comes out, as it did for a few days this week).

I like the shadows of the branches on this tree trunk.  And below is my shadow looking like I'm wearing a skirt of ferns.

I'm posting these for Shadow Shot Sunday.  You can visit to see shadows from everywhere.

Who knows how many more sunlit days we'll have this fall.  Right now we're enveloped in fog again and shadows are a thing of the past.

  10. Your autumn photos are so pretty. LOVE the fern skirt! Your autumn appears to be much more dramatic than ours. Autumn over here is more like a milder version of our spring. We lack the vibrant gold/red colours you experience over there :)

Being enveloped in fog does not sound the least bit pleasant! I hope that passes quickly for you!

    Have a great week :)

Alone again, thanks for your comment. You're right, we have to take advantage of whatever sun we can.

Hey Harriet, thanks for your comment...and for posting SSS.

Catherine, the colours are so much softer than the Mexico ones. But all are lovely.

Angry Parsnip, yes it was that optical illusion that drew my notice.

Hi nana-- Thanks for visiting. I love your Clydesdale photos.
