El centro historico

We picked up Jan from the airport yesterday and before even bringing her to our house we stopped in the centro historico and took a walk around.  We're not really sadists; we knew that she'd been up since 4:00 am to fly to Calgary and then to Mazatlan....but it was the evening of the once-a-month art walk and we didn't want her to miss out on visiting the galleries and the plaza in the evening.

It turned out to be a beautiful way for her to arrive here.  Wandering along the malecon under the palm trees at dusk she said she felt like she was on the Riviera.  Jan was as entranced with the beautiful old buildings as we are.  For sure we'll be spending a lot of time down here during the two weeks she's here.

  1. joanna they remind me a little of old havana which i really loved - decayed, beautifully painted, rusty, gorgeous ironwork, crumbling, beautifully stuccoed all side-by-side and all lovely in its own way. steven

  2. I've got to admit, this would even beat out Happy Hour pina coladas - even for me!
