Ruby Tuesday Peony

For Ruby Tuesday here are photos of the most amazing peony I've ever seen. The buds are red but when the flowers open they turn the most lovely ruby pink. And just look at the gorgeous centre when it's completely open. I saw this beauty in Vancouver's Van Dusen Garden and I think I need to find one to plant in my back yard. I find myself just captivated by flowers this spring, especially the ruby ones.

More about Ruby Tuesday here.

  2. This has been a great year for peonies. They're such a showy summery-time flower. We had lovely red ones...before the wind blew on the weekend. Waiting for the white and pale pink ones now.

  5. My mom would love to have peonies in our new flowerbeds...we will have to see. A few years ago she decided she wanted four o'clocks so I planted them and they grew profusely. But it is so hot here in the summer that the blooms which were to open at 4 PM.. hence their name.. never managed to open fully until almost midnight. Hard to stay up to see that!
