P - Pressure and priorities

Pressure in life builds and then falls away.  Sometimes it comes on suddenly.  Yesterday I was feeling  time pressure with a lot of details needing to be attended to.  But today those details seem irrelevant.  My son Jamie is here for a few days and he has an injured leg that needs attention.  He was in a bike accident and the gear penetrated his leg damaging muscle and Achilles tendon.  It's not healing well and so the details that absorbed me yesterday are no longer a priority.  The pressure now is to get that leg attended to.

  3. Pressure and priorities are often related to that other P word--procrastination.

I hope your son's wound gets the attention it needs and he's soon on the road to healing.

  4. Ooh! That sounds nasty - no fun to be out of commission just when the weather turns a little warmer. Hope you get past these pressures with grace and humor.

  5. How strangely weird that today's letter was P. Pressure, we all have too much of it.
I hope all goes well with the treatment and the leg starts healing.

  7. Being a biker, too, I know how fast an accident can happen. Last year, my husband fell and was unconscious for awhile. I hope you son heals with no permanent damage. Good Luck!

  8. as a teacher, pressure is a feature of the ever expanding moment. it defines the work by day and by night seven days a week throughout the school year. as a parent, there are pressures but they have different colours and feels. healing a child who is ill or injured. well, i like that pressure. steven

  9. It's amazing how quickly priorities can shift.

Two weeks ago, I had a billion things to get done. Then I had an accident, broke my arm and have basically been sitting around recovering ever since. Not at all what I thought I'd be doing, but so grateful it wasn't worse.

I hope your son recovers quickly!

  11. Thanks for your good wishes. We're going in tomorrow for an ultrasound to see if the tendon is ruptured.
