Mohita took us on so many wonderful trips and adventures: deep into Mexico, several times to California and Arizona, across Montana and Wyoming and into Nebraska, to the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone Park, not to mention the trips here on Vancouver Island and into the wine country of the Okanagan.
Our most recent trip to New Mexico and back in February and March was our last. We realized then that we'd finished with the long drives with the dogs. Our travel plans now include flying and renting a car, and leaving the dogs at home.
So it's farewell to Mohita, the cutest, funkiest motorhome we've ever seen. She's going to a great home, a family with two kids ages 5 and 7 and the dad is also a mechanic. They plan to camp mostly here on the island and it's perfect for Mohita. Maybe we'll even see here around with her iconic orange stripes and the hand built box on the back.
awwwwwwww, sad goodbye !
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I got to see her before you sold her.
I too have named my cars so I know how you feel.
cheers, parsnip
I feel as though I've known Mohita for a long time...ever since your first blogged trip with her. Love that her new family has a mechanic - always a useful skill.
ReplyDeleteI'm a total sap too and tend to become incredibly attached to objects too, so I totally feel your pain. I hope you do get to see Mohita once in a while :)
ReplyDeleteNew Mexico is so beautiful! My husband and I own a home there are are hoping to relocate there from New Jersey sometime next year.
ReplyDeleteGlad we got a last glimpse at Mohita.... you did have fun in her and she is also a part of our memories of you. We are not getting rid of the Sprinter per say, but we are buying a house!!! Next time you are in NM, we will be able to host you :) Allison
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Allison. I want to hear all about it. Is it in Albuquerque?

ReplyDeleteOh this made me smile...not only do I name my cars but I truly feel connected to them. Gave then an identity and even talked, on occasion, to them while driving. I'm glad I'm not alone out there!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely and heartwarming "F" post.
